HR Director
Applied and got a call from the hiring manager pretty quickly. Thought we had a really good conversation especially since it was on the fly. The position was taken down a few days later and never heard back, not even that the position was closed or even a rejection email even after following-up.
- Regarding the company's rapid acquisition of existing stores, how would you approach hiring for these new locations?
Multi Unit Manager
You'll have about two or three interviews. First, you'll chat with the Regional Manager and the VP. Then, you'll also connect with the district manager. Make sure you're ready to talk about the numbers and present a strategic, achievable plan for how you'll succeed.
- What value can I add to this position to boost productivity?
- How would you increase productivity in this role?
- What's your strategic plan for success?
Store Manager
I heard about this job through word of mouth. They didn't ask many questions, and I got an offer on the spot. It's usually pretty easy, depending on the district manager. Since I had years of management experience, my answers were way better than what they have for their current managers. They tried to sell me on the dream of working there, but I wasn't buying. When they explained the salary, I realized the whole thing was a joke. I turned down the offer, but they called me back to meet someone else to try and impress me and get me a better salary.
- If you're $300 short of your goal with only five minutes left on the last day of the month, what would you do?
Software Developer
It was one single panel interview and that's it. No written test, no coding test. They asked behavioral questions. They were just selling me the company so that I should join. Showed me some like the company is some sort of paradise for developers, in which I tripped and then turned out to be a jail-like environment.
- Are you able to work in shifts?
- Can you write SQL stored procedures?
- Implement Fibonacci using recursion.
