Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Taycor Financial.
Account Executive
I had a phone interview first. Then, we scheduled a follow-up meeting where I met the manager and the person who called me initially. They had me fill out a form with my basic info. After that, they called me back with an offer, which I accepted.
- Are you comfortable with cold calling?
- Do you generally maintain a positive attitude?

The interview process involved a phone interview (referred to as the 'voice over the phone test'), followed by a 1:1 interview (the 'face to face test'). The next stage was a 'writing test,' which required writing an honest review of the interview process. The base pay structure was clarified during the 1:1 interview, revealing a pro-rated $36K annual base pay for the first three months during training, transitioning to 100% commission with no salary afterward. Information about current Account Executives' earnings varied between the website and interviews, with the interviewer stating that some reps made up to $200,000 before the economic downturn. The interviewer struggled to provide specific figures for minimum and maximum earnings for the current office's Account Executives, citing a 'new program' that was only a few weeks old. The hiring manager was friendly, the office culture seemed easy-going, and there was potential for high earnings. The hiring manager also offered constructive feedback on the resume.
- Can you describe your current role?
- What are your reasons for departing from your present employer?
- Could you elaborate on your role in your current company?
Account Executive
I learned about Taycor through a friend who had previously interviewed there. I looked up Taycor's website and called HR. They asked me to email my resume. Within a couple of days, a recruiter called and we set up a phone interview for about a week later. The phone interview went well; I mostly discussed my work history and leasing experience. The recruiter mentioned scheduling a one-on-one interview at the office in the coming weeks, as they planned to hire more staff for early 2012. I went to the office for the interview with the same recruiter. It was very informative, and I got a good feel for the role in the upcoming year. The office environment was impressive, and the professional atmosphere matched the company's good reputation. I'm hopeful for a positive outcome and the opportunity to join such a successful company.
- Were any of the questions too difficult or unexpected?
- Was it helpful to have a prior relationship with the recruiter before the one-on-one interview?
- Was the interview more informative than interrogative?
