First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tavant.
Software Engineer
I applied through campus recruiting. The online assessment had 2 DSA questions (medium LeetCode difficulty), an aptitude section, and basic general tech questions. The interview itself had two rounds: the first focused on general breadth, and the second was a problem-solving stage.
- There are two ropes that each burn in 1 hour; how do you measure 30 minutes?
- Solve the 25 Horses GFG problem standard puzzle.
Software Engineer
Had 2 technical rounds; the first focused on design patterns and coding logic, and the second was project-related. Sometimes there's a final round with the manager that covers project details and joining information.
- What design patterns do you know?
- Can you implement the logic for some design patterns?
- Tell me about your projects.
Technical Lead
So, there were 2 rounds in total. The first round was a coding round that included technical questions. The second round was a design round. I actually thought it would be system design questions, but they asked me to design a coffee machine, drawing out how it should look, including sensors and indicators. It felt more like a mechanical design interview.
- Could you solve the train chase question for the coding round?
- Please design the appearance of a coffee machine, specifying the placement of sensors and ingredients.
