First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tata Technologies.
Software Engineer
I had two tech rounds initially. The first tech round was about software competency, specifically using MATLAB. The second tech round focused on my past work experience, and we had a general discussion about it. About two weeks after that, the technical manager confirmed my progress, and I had a third round which was a phone interview. This final round covered salary, joining dates, and my reasons for leaving my current job.
- Can you describe the workflow from software creation to delivery?
- Tell me about your previous work experience.
- What are your salary expectations?
Software Engineer
The initial screening wasn't too tough. I did a technical test at home and thought it went pretty well, but then got rejected by email with no explanation. I tried reaching out and emailing a few times for some constructive feedback, but never heard back. It's a bit disappointing from a company of Tata's size.
- What technical questions did you get about GIT?
Software Developer
Got a call from a consultancy for a Software Developer role at Tata Digital. There was only one round with the program director, and he seemed impressed with my skills. A few days later, I got another call, and they sent documents for HR discussion. HR talked about salary, but the offered salary was lower than I expected. I tried to negotiate, mentioning that Mumbai is much more expensive than Pune and that I'd have to work longer hours initially. The HR person said they would discuss it again with the consultancy, but after that, there was no further contact or update, and I was ghosted. It was a really bad experience.
- Could you discuss your knowledge of microservices and Kubernetes architecture?
