Senior Software Engineer
Had an HR interview screening, followed by 3 technical rounds, and a managerial interview. The questions were tailored for a BMO client, focusing on finance and banking, and building scalable systems using Node.js and AWS.
- Could you elaborate on the inner workings of Node.js?
- Can you describe AWS SQS?
- Can you describe AWS SNS?
Software Development Engineer
So the first part is this online assessment thingy, it's called TCS NQT or TCS Digital or TCS CodeVita. It's like a test you take online. If you're going for the TCS Ninja to SDE role, doing well here is super important. It has sections on aptitude and reasoning, like math and logic stuff, and then programming logic where they check your basics in C, C++, Java, Python, and OOP and data structures. Then there's a hands-on coding part with one or two problems, not too hard. They also throw in some SQL queries and basic database MCQs. If you pass that, you get to the technical interview. They mostly ask about Data Structures & Algorithms, like sorting, searching, hashing, and problems with strings. They also care about time and space complexity. OOP concepts are big too, like inheritance and polymorphism, and they want real-world examples. Database and SQL are on the table, so expect joins, normalization, and queries. Basic OS and networking questions might pop up. And you'll probably have to code live, like checking for palindrome strings or numbers, or making stacks/queues, or finding the second largest element in an array.
- Could you write the SQL query for this?
- Tell me about Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Can you explain Data Structures and Algorithms?
