Team Manager
First, I had a quick chat on the phone with a recruiter. Then, I went in for an interview at their office with the department manager. They made me sign an NDA before I could even go in.
- Tell me about your experience managing teams.
- Can you describe the scope of projects you've worked on?
- How have you handled hiring and firing employees?
Manager
So the interviews for this manager role were pretty standard, like what you'd expect. I met with a manager who was all smiles about how fun and happy everyone is, but then they went on a bit of a rant about a recent restructure, sounding kinda bitter about it and dismissive of its success. They also seemed frustrated talking about other managers, which was a bit of a red flag. Then they threw in an on-the-spot assessment, which wasn't mentioned in the prep stuff. It was easy, but they should have given a heads-up so I could be at my best, you know? After getting through most interviews, I talked to someone from Senior Management. They asked the usual stuff and were cool with me speaking openly. But then this one manager, totally sarcastically, hit me with 'its' a simple yes or no question' lol. Like, if you tell me to speak freely, you should let me, right? After that, I got an email saying they're not moving forward with my application, no explanation, even after doing well in the previous interviews. Companies should really give feedback on areas for improvement instead of just a cold rejection email. Spend the time to share feedback. Just be upfront with applicants, because we all know no company or employee is perfect, and we can actually learn from constructive criticism.
- Could you tell me a little about yourself?
- Can you provide an example of a time you faced challenges with a project?
- Have you ever received negative feedback? If so, how did you handle it?
Demand Manager
First, I talked to the recruiter. Then, I met with the department leader. After that, I had an interview with their senior manager and then another one with the VP of the department.
- Tell me about your experience with networks.
- What's your experience with bvoip?
