& Process

I had 3 interviews over 3 weeks, one on Teams and two in person. It started with some cover letter questions. Then I talked to HR and had to rate my skills. After that, I met 9 team members, some alone and some in groups. The questions were mostly the same. I did 2 written tests: one analyzing an argument and one with 2 sample client emails. It was unclear what they wanted, it felt like a personality test. It was also weird interviewing with younger people who seemed inexperienced. Later, HR called after hours to clarify some answers and asked about salary 3 times. They took a month after the interviews to decide. What really bothered me was that during the final week of interviews, they said they were done interviewing but then made excuses for the delay. When they rejected me, HR said they picked people from the week before, so they kept interviewing. I felt strung along and like a backup. Their process was emotionally exhausting.

They asked for a cover letter where I had to talk about my management philosophy and a time I improved a situation. The interview was with the company president, who was really nice and interesting. The office had a cool, high-energy vibe. They even offered me a beer before the interview, which was unexpected given the whole business is about beer (tap handles, glasses, branding). You should be ready to talk about beers and brands you like.

I applied through Craigslist and answered some questions along with submitting my resume. The next step was an interview with HR via Skype, which was conversational and included many 'rate yourself' type questions. I found out the role wasn't marketing/sales focused, but more about 'delivery', involving managing data, customer service, and production/shipping schedules. The starting salary was $40K, with potential to reach $45K-$50K in 2-3 years. After that, I had a situational email task where I had to respond as if to customers. I noticed some critical information was missing from the emails. I decided to respectfully decline the role at this point because it wasn't what I was looking for. The subsequent steps would have been an interview with the Director of Operations and two Project Managers, followed by a final interview with two sales team members and the CEO.
