Software Tester
It started with a phone call screening, then there was an in person tour and examination, and finally a video interview with 3-4 employees. The whole thing took about 2 months.
- What is your approach to troubleshooting wireless earbuds?
Software Tester
After I applied, about a month later, they sent me an email to set up a phone interview and told me to complete an online assessment. It had questions like 'if you were asked to test a new model of fridge, what would you test?' and showed me a picture of a webpage that wouldn't connect, then asked me to describe how I'd troubleshoot it. The phone interview was pretty standard, asking me what I think the job would entail and how I'd handle situations where I don't know how to do the assigned work. Then, I had an in-person interview with two people, plus someone calling in from San Diego. They mostly asked about how I'd handle testing in various situations, and I felt like my answers weren't good enough. They kept pushing me to explain more and reworded the questions, but surprisingly, I got an offer.
- For an email service, how would you confirm an email was successfully sent? And if someone else tested the send function immediately after you, what potential issues might they encounter that you didn't?
- Considering an application you use often, what modifications would you suggest for it?
- Describe the process of making spaghetti to a novice cook.
Software Tester
Got a call to come in for an interview at the office. They took me to a conference room with a PC where the manager and supervisor of the software testing team were waiting. After just one interview, they told me to wait a few weeks to hear back about the job.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
- What programming experience do you have?
