Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TAP ADVISORS.
Analyst
The interview process started with a short 15-minute phone call. It was mainly behavioral questions, with a few technical ones sprinkled in at the end. The person interviewing me was really nice and patient on the phone.
- Can you tell me about a recent deal that TAP was involved in?
Summer Analyst
The interview process was quite straightforward. I had a first round through campus recruiting, followed by a super-day. The super-day involved five interviews back-to-back with two Managing Directors, two Associates, and two Analysts who all interviewed me at the same time. The technical questions were very standard, and many of the behavioral questions were based on my resume.
- Besides what's on your resume, what differentiates you?
- Basic finance questions
- Basic accounting questions
Analyst
Went through 3 interview rounds for this full-time analyst role. The first was a call with an analyst, mostly covering motivational questions and a general catch-up. The second round was a pretty bad experience via Zoom with an associate. He actually left to get food mid-interview, turning off his video and muting himself to eat while I answered questions. The final interview was more professional, with an MD at their office. Even after the last stage, I never heard back about their decision. Interestingly, in every interview, I asked what 'TAP' meant, and nobody could give me an answer.
- Can you tell me your story and go through your CV?
- What makes you want to work at TAP?
