I had an initial screening with the recruiter who reached out to me. They asked a lot of typical questions about me and my background. They also gave a general overview of the company, the role, and how it fits into the overall organization.

I had a phone interview with HR, then another phone interview with the hiring manager, and finally an onsite interview with the extended sales leadership team. The HR team was really responsive and knowledgeable throughout the whole thing, and the sales leadership team did a deep dive screening. They definitely know who they're looking for to join their ranks. The team was upfront about what it takes to be a Tanium employee – hard work, commitment to the mission, and discipline – and didn't shy away from the reality of their work culture, which was a concern of mine initially. Overall, it was a good experience, even though I didn't get an offer.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It started with a standard HR screening, where they mostly just pitched the company instead of asking about my background. Then, I had a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager, followed by a 60-minute technical interview. After that, there was a panel interview. The recruiter didn't reach out after the technical interview, so I had to follow up after a week or two. She said it went well and that I needed to prepare for a presentation. The task was to create a presentation about a new product idea and then present it to a panel. I was assigned a buddy to help me out. I put a lot of time into preparing for the panel, but then the recruiter and company just went silent. The presentation was never scheduled, and the recruiter didn't reply to my follow-up about scheduling it. The actual interviews were quite easy, but the presentation part felt a bit much, like investing a lot of time and effort for a chance at a job with only a vague idea of what they're looking for. It was a bit demoralizing, especially since other companies that do this usually provide a template or clearer guidance on what they expect.
