First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tandem Diabetes.
Engineering Manager
It started with a call from the recruiter, then a call with the hiring manager. After that, there was a two-day remote final interview with various panels. The interviews weren't too tough, and the people were generally nice, although some interviewers were late or didn't show up, but there was always at least one person present. The overall experience was okay and pretty straightforward, but I never heard back after the final round. Zero communication.

Regulatory Affairs Specialist
The first interview felt like the interviewer had already decided I wasn't a good fit. They knew I didn't have 510k experience and focused the entire conversation on that, showing no interest in my other experience or answering my questions. Even though this is the same job title I have at a larger company, and the pay offered wasn't even an increase, they still seemed to indicate I wasn't a match. They were looking for someone to handle significantly more work than I do now, but for a wage that's below the industry standard. The interviewer mentioned a possible writing assignment and seemed annoyed when I asked for more details, like how much time they expected me to spend on it. Given I already have a full-time job, they showed a complete disregard for my time and the time already wasted. My career and education speak for themselves, and while it would be one thing if all candidates were doing a writing sample, these people need to be more realistic about the wage and title they offer for the amount of work they expect.

Sales Specialist
The company seems great and the recruiting team is fantastic. After my initial phone call, I quickly got a callback for an interview, but the process after that moves slowly. They schedule the second video panel interview a few weeks to a month out. They cross-check your resume and dates, so it’s important to ensure everything is accurate. If hired, they try to group you with others in the same “class” to train together. The position I interviewed for seemed great, with a positive work culture. I believe the experience really depends on the role you’re in, but there’s likely a chance to switch if you find your current position isn’t the right fit.

Security Analyst
It was an abysmal experience, and in general, I would never recommend anyone apply here given how shoddy their hiring practices are. After a month and 6 interviews for a non-management role, the recruiter ghosted me. This company appears to be a walking privacy and cybersecurity nightmare – the talent coordinator misspelled my name and sent me someone else’s resume based on that misspelling. I even interviewed with one individual twice, for reasons that were not explained. These clowns don’t know what they’re doing and have no idea what they want. Their salary expectations are not competitive, they’re dreadful given the requirements they expected. Everyone I encountered seemed disorganized and unprepared. The department VP was very new, and neither he, nor any of the people I spoke with, could name any goals or expectations for the position. They all made a point of bragging about how regulated their industry is. None of the people I spoke with should be responsible for hiring.
