First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Talkdesk.
Product Manager
I reached out to a colleague at Talkdesk who helped me understand the culture and passed my resume on. My first interview was with a Talent Operations Coordinator who checked my interest, work eligibility, and salary expectations. A Talent Acquisition Recruiter also talked to me. Next, I interviewed with the hiring manager, who asked about my experience, skills, and fit for the role, with some questions being quick and others more situational. After that, I had a challenge-presentation interview. It was a one-hour webinar where I presented something I'd prepared to the hiring manager, other managers, the Talent Operations Coordinator, and potential teammates. The presentation was challenging and engaging. I was then contacted by Talent Operations with good news about the presentation and we discussed the job title, benefits, start date, and salary range. There was one final call to confirm the job title, start date, position, and compensation. An offer was extended, valid for three days. About a week before I started, I checked in, confirmed everything was set, and then received onboarding emails and equipment.
- Can you describe a typical day in your last job?
- What is your typical salary range?
- What is your work history and experience?
Product Manager
Got referred by someone with similar experience, then sent my CV. Had an initial chat with an HR consultant. The questions were about company and culture fit, nothing technical. She said she'd get back to me by the end of the week, but didn't. I followed up a week later for feedback, and she ghosted me. A few months later, I got an email asking for feedback on the recruitment process, where I shared my not-so-great experience. Then I finally got a rejection email.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Product Manager
The interview process started with a recruiter call. This was followed by an interview with the hiring manager. The final round involved a case study presentation and discussion with a panel of directors and managers. The case study required presenting a custom solution, including potential partner integrations, MVP phases, and risks, as if at an advisory board meeting.
- What's your understanding of the product lifecycle, and how have you worked with agile/scrum teams?
- Do you have experience writing user stories?
- Present a custom solution as if you were at an advisory board meeting, including potential partner integrations, MVP phases, and risks.
