First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Talent International.
Business Development Director
It was a very informal interview process, which was great for me to get a feel for the company culture. The role itself wasn't the right fit, but overall it was a good experience.
- Tell me about challenges you've faced and your industry knowledge, using a competency framework.
Recruiter
The recruiter reached out about a job and scheduled a call, but they missed our interview twice. Then, the recruiter gave me the wrong address for the on-site interview and didn't know basic things about my profile or the job, like the number of holidays. The next interviewer was good and asked smart questions, but I learned the job was quite different from what the recruiter described. They said there would be a third round and feedback in 3 days, but I never heard back. I had to follow up, and they said I wasn't the best fit and they'd look for someone else. Overall, it was pretty disappointing, especially coming from a recruiting company.

Chief Executive Officer
It was a phone Interview and it was very brief and mostly professional. The interviewer though seemed like she had fifty balls in the air and that I was not sure if she was completely committed to the call and fully concentrating on the interview. The feedback regarding the interview was limited and disappointingly scant. Neither was there any ultimate follow-up or response to a professional response I sent. Again, at the C-Level one would would expect more. Even at the sole contributor level an ATS kicks out an auto response...Small details like this often tend to paint a bigger picture.
- They want to know about your M&A experience.
- They are interested in your experience with growth in the states via mergers and acquisitions and joint acquisitions.
- They want to know if you have the ability to evaluate and execute this type of growth.
Principal Software Engineer
I worked with a recruiter from Talent International for a role with another company. The recruiter was friendly but didn't advocate for me and let the employer treat the process disrespectfully, wasting my time. After an interview with the hiring manager, the employer cut the salary by nearly 10%, claiming it was a hybrid role and since I'd be remote, the salary was lower due to no commute. This was below their website's salary floor. When I questioned it, they reiterated that they don't adhere to their posted salaries for remote employees. The recruiter mentioned this was a common issue with the company and that he'd seen it happen with other candidates but didn't push back, allowing the employer to continue this trend. After three more interviews, I received positive feedback and was told they'd respond in 2-3 days. The recruiter indicated that only one out of eleven candidates reaching this stage wasn't offered the job, implying the panel interview was almost a guarantee. Instead of the expected 2-3 days, ten days later, they expressed concerns about my seniority/age/experience and mentioned they were interviewing a comparison candidate. During those ten days, there was no proactive communication, and my inquiries went unanswered. Seven days after that, I got a generic rejection email. The recruiter never contacted me, so I had to reach out to confirm the rejection.
