This was probably the best interview experience I've had so far. The whole process took three weeks and was broken down into four parts: first, a recruiter call, then a call with the hiring manager, followed by a pair programming exercise, and finally a two-hour panel interview. It's worth noting all the interviewers were super patient, accommodating, and just genuinely nice people, which I see as a good sign given the engineering team works in pairs.

The recruiter was super nice and kept me in the loop the whole time. They were fast to reply to my emails and even called me to say thanks and suggest other roles. It was the most respectful chat I've had with a company. The first call was a quick chat about my background and some basic stuff, plus a short quiz on DB indexes (what they're for, good and bad points), HTTP verbs, and some common Linux commands for getting around. Then, I had a call with an engineer who really dug into one of my past projects and gave me a quiz about sorting massive files without running out of memory. Unfortunately, I didn't make it past that second call.

Applied online and was quickly contacted by a recruiter. We had a nice chat, but then there was silence. I followed up a few times, and each time they said they were interested and would reply, but then they ghosted me.
