First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Talbots.
Client Specialist
I talked to all three managers. It was a good process because each manager has different responsibilities and I'd be working with all of them at some point. The interviews were individual and spread over a couple of days because of my shifts. They asked how I heard about the job and if I was familiar with Talbots and its products.
- How did you find out about this role?
- Are you familiar with Talbots and the products?
- Are you comfortable talking to new people?
Client Specialist
After filling out an application in the store, I was able to set up an interview with the store manager for three days later. The store manager conducted the first interview. Then, I had a second interview scheduled with the district manager. The entire process lasted about a week and a half. Both interviews felt pretty casual and conversational, not like a typical formal interview. They seemed really friendly and were looking for someone who was also friendly, warm, and personable.
- Can you describe a store you frequent that you believe provides excellent customer service?
Client Specialist
I met with the temporary manager and District manager in the same meeting. They were warm and welcoming and completely professional. I enjoyed my interview very much. I had been interviewed at another Talbot's store in the area. I learned I could not work there because a family member already worked there; that was against company policy. So they arranged to have me try out for a job at the Towson store.
- Why are you interested in working at Talbot's?
