Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Talan.
Consultant
The hiring process kicks off with submitting your application (CV) and a recruiter screening you, often followed by a quick phone chat to check your background and motivation. Then, there are technical interviews or practical tests to see your skills, and after that, behavioral/HR interviews to assess your soft skills. Finally, the company will extend an offer, which might involve some negotiation before you sign the contract.
- Do you have any industry preferences for your work?
Consultant
I went through a really thorough hiring process for a junior consultant role: 2 phone calls, 3 video interviews, and 1 in-person meeting. I met about 10 people from the department, which has around 30 consultants. I also did 2 practical exercises and presented a case study in my final interview with the director. Everything went pretty well, except for that last interview. The whole thing took two months and ended poorly.
- Tell me about classic questions and explain your past projects.
- Can you explain the projects you have worked on?
Senior Consultant
The process involved three interviews: HR, then two managers to review my background. They asked about my professional project's coherence, technical finance questions, and project methodology. They also inquired about my motivations and knowledge of the firm. The recruitment process took about a month, focusing on the profile.
- How do you value an option?
- What is your project methodology?
- What are your flaws?
