Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TAL Education Group.
Management Trainee
The interview process started with a first round phone screen. The second round involved a class demo, and the third round was a video chat. I have to say, the HR was incredibly rude and unprofessional, just like others have said. She sounded like a robot reading from a script. It was the worst interview experience ever. Honestly, I should have paid attention to the negative reviews and not wasted my time with TAL.
- What draws you to the education sector?
- Can you outline your career aspirations for the next 3-5 years?
- Tell me about the biggest challenge you've faced in life.
Management Trainee
The HR recruiter gave a quick call for a brief introduction, then asked 3 behavioral questions. The interview ended with asking if the interviewees have questions. The whole process took 10 minutes. It felt more like an AI interview than a real conversation.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What are your thoughts on education?
- Describe your greatest achievement.
Management Trainee
We had two phone screenings first. Then, I had to do a lesson plan presentation. They gave me a choice of math questions to pick from. They also asked general questions about my attitudes toward education and why I want to work for them. The interview had to be in Chinese.
- What is the importance of education?
- What are your general attitudes about education?
- What are your motivations for seeking employment with this company?
