Business Analyst
It was a recruiter call. I had to introduce myself and talk about my past projects, highlighting any big wins. The discussion involved business scenarios and I was asked to explain my thought process. The whole thing was quick, went smoothly, and the interviewer was nice.
- Tell me about your understanding of the industry.
- What are some basic research methods you use?
- Given a business problem, can you suggest potential solutions?
Teacher
This interview experience was a complete joke. I'm upset with myself for allowing this subpar organization to treat me this way. The interview was scheduled for 5:30 pm, and I received a generic email from the interviewer. I thought we were set to go, but she was late. At 5:35, 5:45, and 5:51, I was waiting on Skype, noticing her 'do not disturb' status. I messaged her, and after five minutes, she said someone else was calling me. I was dressed and ready, but no call came until 6:02. The interviewer hadn't read my resume, was unfamiliar with my background, and I don't think she even knew my name. She asked me to talk about my background. I mentioned my degrees in communication and early childhood education. She then questioned my certifications, to which I reiterated my degree in early childhood education. She seemed unsure, as if prompted to ask about certifications. I am actively enrolled in an alternative teaching certification program. Then, she asked me to begin the demo class I had prepared for days. Mid-way through the first slide, another person, who seemed intoxicated, joined the interview, pretending to be a student and taking over from the interviewer. She allowed this. It would have been funny if it weren't such a huge waste of time. I tried to continue the interview while the other person acted as a student. She then stopped me, said I did great, and called it a 'real class'. There's more to this story, but I've run out of space. This was my worst interview ever, not due to my performance, but because of the wasted time.
- Can you tell me about the certifications you hold?
- Could you discuss your background?
- Please begin the demo class.
Future Leadership Program
The interview process was really unprofessional and disorganized, honestly one of the worst interview vibes I've ever experienced. The HR person was super unprofessional, I'm guessing Chinese? Their English was a bit weird. But they seemed to think highly of themselves. I went through the whole thing and got an offer, but then they cancelled last minute, which was just disgusting and totally unreasonable. I hope others don't get fooled. Usually, there are three rounds. Round 1 was the HR interview, just some basic chat. The HR person was Chinese, with average English, but their approach felt disrespectful, like they were just reading from a script without any real conversation. Round 2 was a class demo where you pick a topic and explain it. The topics were easy, and they just cared if you could finish the lecture, not how well you spoke. Funny thing, the interviewer was late, so they switched someone last minute, making the whole thing feel really awkward and the interviewer unprofessional. Round 3 was about the Singapore education market and designing diagnostic papers. The interviewers, four of them, weren't good at English, and they asked questions in Chinese even though I presented in English. This is usually it, but they threw in an extra round for some reason, which was weird, but I passed that too and got the offer.
- Basic conversation during HR interview.
- Prepare and present a demo of a class.
- Research on the Singapore education market.
Management Trainee
The HR recruiter gave a quick call for a brief introduction, then asked 3 behavioral questions. The interview ended with asking if the interviewees have questions. The whole process took 10 minutes. It felt more like an AI interview than a real conversation.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What are your thoughts on education?
- Describe your greatest achievement.
