First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Taj Group of Hotels.
Event Analyst
I made it to the third stage. I mentioned from the start that I was abroad due to family matters, but they said I couldn't continue to this last phase because I was out of the country and it could only be in person. I'm heartbroken because I was honest from the beginning.
- Tell me about an experience that went wrong and what you did about it?
Front Desk Receptionist
The interview process was okay, but it could have been better. They asked basic questions and some situational ones based on real scenarios. You should prepare to talk about yourself and your previous jobs. Also, try to praise the company and its brand value.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you describe your previous work experiences?
- What do you know about our company and brand value?
Graduate Engineer
It had 4 rounds, which I felt was a little unnecessary considering the compensation. First an informal phone screening with the assistant manager (HR), then an in-person interview with the chief engineer, then again one with the HR head. After a few days another one with the Area Director and finally with the VP of Engineering. It was mostly based on resume and communication skills.
- Could you tell me about your favorite subject during your engineering studies?
Intern
Applying for the internship at Taj Group of Hotels is pretty straightforward. You can apply online, through campus placements, or via referrals. First, there's an HR call to see if you're interested in hospitality and if you'd fit in. If you pass that, you'll have a technical or functional interview where they'll ask you stuff specific to the department, like how you'd deal with unhappy guests or run a busy shift. The last part is usually a panel interview or a case study to check out how you solve problems, talk to people, and work with others. They really look at both your skills and if you're a good cultural fit.
- What makes you want to pursue this internship opportunity?
