Sales Representative
The interview started with a quick 15-20 minute chat to get to know me and check my people skills. Then, a more in-depth 45-60 minute session covered job details, pay, and career progression. I found out the entry-level job is 6 days a week, 10 am to 9/9:30 pm weekdays and 9 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. A normal day involves arriving at the office at 10 am for team activities and training, then heading out for door-to-door sales from 1 pm to 8 pm, before returning to the office for about an hour of wrap-up. It's 100% commission-based, with entry-level folks typically earning $400-$600 weekly. They mentioned 40-50% of new hires are below this range and need more training. There are four career levels, but the first three are also commission-based sales roles. Reaching the final salaried stage takes 2-4 years. I was offered a third round, likely involving an official offer and some checks, but I declined after learning more about the day-to-day. The people were nice and it seems like honest work, but it's not what I'm looking for right now.
- If you had to rank pay, chances for growth, and the work atmosphere from most to least crucial, how would you do it?
Outside Sales Representative
I think there were 3 interview rounds. The first one was a 15-minute chat with the hiring manager, where they said just be yourself. But honestly, there were like 10 other people interviewing at the same time, it was super busy. I got an offer for a second interview, but I skipped it because they didn't offer any base salary.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next 5 years?
Sales
The interview process was pretty simple. The first interview was short, but the second one was longer and more in-depth. Both were one-on-one. The third interview included a background check, drug test, and computer test, which seems standard these days. The office felt lively in the afternoon but calmer in the morning. I met with two different people during my interviews, and they were both professional and nice.
- What would your best friend say about you?
