First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Taco Bell.
General Manager
The AI system set up an interview for me pretty fast. But, the area coach I was meant to talk to didn't show up. The GM was cool though, and came over to chat for a bit. She said she got pulled into some emergency. She promised to have the coach call me, but they never did. It felt pretty unprofessional.
- No questions were asked because the interviewer never showed up for the interview.
General Manager
I saw an ad for a Taco Bell management job fair but couldn't go, so I applied online. A field recruiter contacted me within a week and sent some company info before setting up a phone interview. This 20-30 minute call covered my management experience, salary history, schedule, and expectations. She then passed my info to the area manager. I got an email for an interview with the district/area manager later that week. Two people interviewed me, asking a lot about my prior management experience and schedule. I was told the process is usually three parts, but since one of the interviewers that day was the third person, I skipped that round. They said I'd hear back within 24 hours. I got a verbal offer a few hours later. They mentioned a written contract and the 6-8 week training would follow after I submitted my background check info.

General Manager
I applied online and heard back from a HR rep within 30 days. We scheduled a phone interview for the next week where we talked about basic stuff, why I wanted to work at Taco Bell, and some situational and behavioral questions. She then set up a second interview for later that week with the area coach and director of operations. This second interview was pretty chill and we talked about my past experiences, goals I've met, training methods, and why I'd be a good fit. If you haven't worked for Taco Bell before, they might set up a realistic job preview (RJP) during a busy lunch or dinner shift with a store's GM to give you a real feel for the job. But if you have Taco Bell experience, you might skip this. I got offered the job and accepted it on the spot.
- What's your approach to managing an underperforming employee?
- How would you deal with an employee who is constantly not meeting expectations?
