Presentation Behavioral Technical

I tried reaching out to the recruiter team six times for some clarity on the sales presentation, but got nothing back. I even set up a mock interview with them beforehand, but they didn't show up. Feeling unsure, I decided to contact the main interviewer I'd spoken to before to explain what happened. I let them know that without answers to my questions and after the no-show, I didn't think I could give my best performance. The next day, the recruiting team contacted me through phone, email, and text, and we rearranged the call with the hiring team. On the day of the presentation, the Interviewer was late. They mentioned that because of back-to-back meetings at the start of the new quarter, they weren't aware of the scheduled presentation. That felt like a red flag. It seemed like they weren't managing their schedule well, and it came across like meeting with me was a hassle. Not a great start, but it wasn't my fault—this seemed more like a sign of a disorganized recruiting department. The presentation itself went okay, though I felt like some of the technical details were a bit over their heads, especially since the solution at my previous company was quite intricate. That's understandable. But then, when they asked if I had any questions for them, I asked, “What have all the candidates consistently missed in their interviews?” They said they didn't like that question, calling it negative. I had actually gotten that question from a professional interviewer on social media who specializes in this, so I was taken aback by their reaction. In reality, it seemed like they were bothered by having me on their calendar, and they ended up not moving forward with me. I also asked, “What gives Tableau its competitive advantage?” He/She then turned it around, asking me who our competitors were. The sales presentation was supposed to be about my professional experience, not the solution (Tableau). I named one competitor, but the feedback was that my research was just basic. And, unfortunately, he/she didn't directly answer my question either. Looking back, it was a good thing this didn't work out. If an interviewer gets so emotional during a presentation, it's a clear sign they might not manage their team well, especially if they can't even manage their own calendar. Hard pass for me.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a six-round interview process. One of the rounds involved giving a presentation on accounts assigned by Tableau. People from Tableau involved included Talent Acquisition, an Account Executive, the Hiring Manager, a Technical associate (Solution Engineer), and the manager of the hiring manager. It was pretty straightforward but took a lot of time.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The process was pretty standard. It kicked off with a recruiter call where I had to describe my typical sales cycle. After that, I had an interview with the manager which went well, followed by a one-on-one with a team member. The last day involved two interviews: one with several AEs from the team, and another with two managers. The following day, I had to give a sales pitch about Tableau. Be warned, you really need to know the product inside out for this. It's a challenging sales pitch where they'll probe about pricing, test your reaction if someone tries to dismiss their colleagues (make sure you keep them engaged), and generally look for a demo that tells a story about data analysis.
