Manager
The whole process, including onboarding, was really smooth. I had a couple of questions that got sorted out later. The entire thing went well. The manager also helped align me with the project.
- Can you introduce yourself concisely?
Test Manager
You'll be sitting in a conference room with a large group of people, anywhere from 2 to 15. They'll start by asking some standard questions about your background, why you're interested in this specific role, and your thoughts on testing. Then, they'll give you some practical and logical tasks. The logical ones are designed to test your thinking flexibility and are pretty abstract. It can be hard to focus with so many people, so talking through your thought process out loud is a good idea – it helps you keep track, shows them how you think, and helps you remember where you were if you get interrupted. The practical tasks involve showing you know the software and tech needed for the job. You won't get a computer, though; you'll have to write code or commands on paper, like I did with SQL and XML, or simulate filling out a bug tracker by writing preconditions, actions, and results. At the end, interviewers from different projects will talk about their work, and you can ask them questions. Be aware that interviews can be poorly organized time-wise, and interviewers might just leave without a word, even midway through. Don't take it personally, but it's a bit disrespectful. This interview is generally low-pressure, the main surprises might be the sheer number of interviewers or them leaving unexpectedly.
- Given two ropes that each burn for exactly one hour but at an uneven rate, and a way to light them, how can you measure exactly 45 minutes? You do not have watches.
Incident Manager
I applied for one role and was offered two other positions by HR. The first interview was in person, but I got no feedback. The second interview was canceled 30 minutes before it started even though I was already at the location. They promised a new date that never came. For the third position, I had two interview rounds, and then waited almost three months for feedback. Since I live abroad, this was a huge waste of time and money for flights, as I had to do in-person interviews twice. It was a very unprofessional and disorganized experience with the HR department. I reached out for feedback multiple times with no response. I'm a young professional with significant international experience and have never encountered such ignorance.
