Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at T. Rowe Price.
Investment Analyst
I had a call with the recruiter. They said they would send me dates for an interview, but then they never got back to me. It's a shame because they seemed nice, but it's not great to be ignored like that.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
- What makes you want to work for this company?
Equity Research Intern
It was a pretty simple process. First, I had a phone call with the person who managed the intern and Analyst Acceleration program. Because my school was close by, I actually went in for another interview at their office with some of the Associate Analysts. It was mostly to give me information; they didn't really ask me anything to test my knowledge, just to see if I was genuinely interested in stocks and investing.
- What sparked your interest in the market?
- Are you currently tracking any stocks?
- Can you confidently present a stock pitch?
Investment Analyst
First, a recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. About a week after that, I had a quick 15-minute chat with the recruiter where we covered the basics of the job, like pay and what kind of experience they were looking for, and if I was okay with the job being in Baltimore. Then, two weeks later, I spoke with the hiring manager over the phone. It was pretty much all behavioral questions, focusing on my past work, and nothing technical. A week after that, the recruiter sent a rejection email, mentioning that I lacked some of the specific experience they needed.
- Are you open to moving your family to Baltimore?
