First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sysco.
Delivery Driver
The interview was formal but easy. They mostly asked questions about past work experience and explained how to complete the necessary forms and provide required information. It was a very straightforward interview to pass, not aggressive at all.
- Can you tell me about your previous employment history?
Truck Driver
After applying, a 3rd party HR person will text, email, and sometimes call for a phone interview. Took a week to actually get in touch with them. If you pass, you'll have a video interview. You're on video, they are blocked. I was told I would hear back on the decision within 5 days. Didn't hear back for 4 weeks. I am female and have been in the trucking industry for 7 years, and I definitely had concerns about being hired for this job because I am female. My friend graduated from the same trucking school and has the same background and was hired immediately.

Delivery Driver
I applied for a Class A delivery driver job at Sysco's Houston location. The next morning, a recruiter called to set up an interview. Since I'm an OTR truck driver, I couldn't make it for an in-person interview, so she scheduled me for a phone interview instead. The phone interview was supposed to be at 9 am Houston time, but 9 am came and went, and five days later, I still haven't received a call back. I've called my recruiter every day without an answer, texted her with no reply, and left voicemails for her and the candidate hotline, but still no callbacks. I even called the Houston location's customer service, and she emailed the four people scheduled for the interview, asking them to contact me, but not one of them has called back. So, this is how Sysco handles recruiting, apparently.
