First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sysco LABS.
Software Engineer
I applied through my university's career portal and had an interview at the career day event specifically for recent graduates. It was a walking interview, and the whole thing lasted about 30 minutes to an hour.
- Can you tell me about your final year research project?
- How would you answer questions related to SQL?
- What do you know about Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)?
Technical Lead
The interview process typically involves two to three rounds. The first interview focuses on technical knowledge. The second interview might be directly with the General Manager (GM) or an Architect. If you proceed past the Architect interview, there's a third interview with the GM. They place a strong emphasis on cultural fit during hiring, and may inquire about your family background and other personal details.
- Can you discuss software design patterns?
- What are your thoughts on architecture patterns?
- How do you approach cultural fit in a team?
Software Engineer
HR reached out and invited me to the main office for a conversation. At the office, I had an interview with a solution architect. They presented me with a problem and asked me to come up with a solution. After they were satisfied with my design, they gave me the go-ahead to provide technical specifics. Following that, I met with an executive who discussed the company's culture and values and sought my input. That concluded the interviews. A few days later, HR contacted me with the offer.
- Can you design an efficient system for processing high volumes of transaction data?
