Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SYPartners.
Strategist
The interview process was multi-step, consisting of about 5 to 6 rounds. Each round was progressively more technical and challenging than the last. It took a while for them to get back to me after I applied, but after that initial contact, the team was really nice and responded quickly.
- What makes you interested in SYP?
- What motivated you to apply for a strategist role?
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
Strategist
The interview process felt a bit messy and disorganized, making me question the recruiter's organization. They asked for materials but didn't seem to review them before the interview. It was pretty informal, and SYP didn't seem very put-together, which lessened my enthusiasm. The office itself wasn't as impressive as the photos, and the general vibe felt a little flat. Maybe it was just overhyped, but the atmosphere didn't live up to the buzz.
- Can you walk me through your professional background?
- What's your personal career narrative?
- Share some specific examples from your past work.
Strategy
First, I had a phone interview with a strategist, which was a standard screening call. Then, I was given a strategy case study to complete within 48 hours. Finally, I had two in-person interviews at their office. One was with a Creative Director and a Strategist, and the other was with a Strategy Director and a Senior Strategist.
- The in-person interviews were focused on assessing cultural fit and team compatibility, so I just needed to be my authentic self.
