Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Syngenta.
Principal Scientist
I went through the HR screening, then had a behavioural interview and a technical interview. The technical interview didn't involve a presentation. It mainly consisted of questions to assess my past experience with omics analysis. The team was really nice.
- Could you explain your preferred omics analysis technique, detailing why and how it works?
- Describe an instance where you encountered a challenge and developed a novel solution.
Chemist
I got contacted by a hiring company called Adecco, they were really good and gave me a lot of info on how to get ready for the interview. But, they didn't say much about the exact job I was interviewing for, making it tough to prep. The interviewer was friendly but really vague about the job details. They mostly asked about my past experience related to the job. I got to tour the lab and check out the place. However, details like benefits and salary were not clear at all.
- Tell me about your experience with chemical synthesis.
Scientist
So the interviews went like this: first, an HR screen, then a round with the hiring team but not the hiring manager, and finally, a round with the full hiring team including the hiring manager. They hit us with both technical and behavioral stuff in all the interviews. All in all, it was a good process.
- What makes you want to join this company?
