The interview process was pretty painless. It started with two phone screens. First was a general chat about the company and my interests to check for fit. Then, a technical phone screen with another engineer, focusing on fundamental Java concepts. After that, I came in for an in-person interview, which included a whiteboarding session with the CEO. He handles the final technical and company fit interviews. The whole thing, from the first call to the offer, took about a week and a half. Pretty happy I came here.

The interview process involved several technical questions. I'd heard from a colleague that Synergist treated its employees well but was also involved in some questionable practices on their job sites, like only picking people from their inner circle and blocking others from necessary information. This included using Wiki pages manipulatively, putting down team members in daily meetings, blocking access to peer software reviews, not letting people document project progress, and firing employees who questioned these actions. My goal in interviewing was to see if these behaviors were present.

My interview process with Synergist Computing was great! It was very professional but at the same time comfortable and relaxed. I felt like I had great conversations with the interviewers, both technical and in general regarding the company and their beliefs. The interview itself was not rigid with scripted questions, but instead they let the conversation naturally take it's course leading me towards interesting topics and asking me to dive into details of my experiences and opinions. I got the impression this company puts more importance on a developer's passion, curiosity and willingness to learn over whether they know technology X and Y. Overall, great experience and I wish more interviews were like this!
