Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Synapse Design.
Senior Verification Engineer
So the interview had 4 rounds in total. The first round was with the director, and then the next three were with clients from different projects. It was a pretty good experience, the interviewers were helpful and guided me when I got stuck.
- Can you explain the security components of the Windows boot process on a server system?
- Could you describe the framework you were working on?
- Do you have any Python programming experience?
Design Verification Engineer
I applied through LinkedIn and a recruiter from HR called me the next day to set up an interview. There were two rounds in total. The first round was a video call on Teams where the interviewer asked me about myself and my projects. Then, she asked questions about UVM and SV, and also gave me some code to determine the output. The second round, also a 30-minute video call on Teams, focused on my previous projects and included some logical questions based on them.
- Could you answer some questions about array methods?
- Can you write scoreboard code in general?
- What are your thoughts on TLM ports?
Staff Verification Engineer
The interview process was a bit disorganized. Sometimes they would call me in the morning and expect me to come in that very afternoon. I missed one interview entirely because I wasn't informed about it in time. Looking back, that kind of lack of communication might have been a sign of how I'd be treated on the job.
- Would you be willing to travel to the customer in Texas?
