Applied via LinkedIn, and the whole process took about two months. It started with a problem-solving task (OR problem), followed by a data analysis and research task. Then, there was a technical interview with an Engineer, and finally, a joint interview with a Manager and HR. After that, an offer was extended.

Technical Coding Behavioral

I had a late phone call and was invited to a 'squad fit' interview where some questions were asked during the phone screen. The interview aims to gauge your technical and non-technical skills, as well as your habits. Following that, I was invited to a technical interview. Just before it, there was a task to build a small app within two hours, which would then be discussed along with the code during the actual interview. There were many mobile technical questions, and I felt the interview went well. I asked a technical question to the interviewer, but they declined to answer, which felt like a bad sign. I had a feeling I wouldn't move forward, but I was surprised not to receive any feedback or rejection for a month. The interview process up to that point was quite good, but it was unfortunate and unexpected to end this way.

Behavioral Technical Other

I was contacted by a recruiter for this position. The interview process was extremely lengthy, involving discussions with more than 10 of the company's top executives in separate 1-hour one-on-one interviews. This included the CEO, who seemed quite inexperienced and overly enthusiastic. Many of the interviewers appeared disengaged with their roles and uncertain about their objectives, though they seemed to have joined because the founder and CEO, Mostafa, had persuaded them about the company's potential and offered competitive compensation. Overall, I was unimpressed with the experience and wouldn't consider working there.

Behavioral Other

I spoke with the Engineer People Manager on Thursday two weeks ago. It wasn't a formal interview, more of a chat where I asked about the work environment and recruiting across SWVL's regions. He mentioned he was still interviewing other candidates and would provide feedback the following week. Strangely, right after we ended the call, he sent a rejection email, even though he hadn't actually interviewed me, assessed my skills, or discussed compensation. Given SWVL's known reputation, I wasn't particularly surprised by this unprofessional handling.
