Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Swisslog.
Software Engineer
First, there was an HR Screen call to check out personality, past jobs, and what salary I wanted. Then, the Hiring Manager interview, which was like a chat about my technical skills, how I'd handle tough situations like stress or conflict, and how my experience fits the job. After that, a Technical/Panel Interview, usually with 3-4 people for tech jobs, digging into my specific engineering or software skills. Finally, some interviews with a Director or VP to see if I'd fit the company culture and the big picture.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
Software Engineer
So first, we had this 30 minute phone call to just chat, see if you knew anything about us, and if you were on the same page about what this job is about. After that, there were 3 assessments: verbal reasoning, math reasoning, and logical reasoning. You needed to hit at least the 50th percentile on those. Then, we did a video call with two engineers, one who's a II and another who's a III. This was to dig a bit more into your background and check out your tech skills in the language we use. Lastly, they invited me in for an in-person interview with another SWE II and management.
- Tell me about a project you worked on that was challenging, either the project itself or working with others in a group.
Senior Software Engineer
The process started with a simple questionnaire, then an interview. However, be aware that they might ghost you, as on two occasions I had to reach out myself only to find out they decided to hire a junior developer instead.
- Were there any simple Java/J2EE questions asked?
