Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at sweetgreen.
Server
It was a really fast and simple process, I just talked to the manager for like 15 minutes. They asked the usual stuff for a serving job: about my past experience, if I can work well with others, and what I like to do when I'm not working. The vibe was super chill and friendly.
- In what ways do you see yourself contributing value to our team?
Cashier
The Sweetgreen hiring process usually starts with a phone chat, then you go in for an in-person interview. This in-person part might have a few parts to it, where they ask you questions about how you've handled things before and what you would do in certain situations, and also test your skills. They want to see your background, what you can do, and if you fit with what Sweetgreen is all about.
- Tell me about your background in food service.
- How do you deal with challenging customers or scenarios?
- What's your approach to managing multiple tasks when you're busy?
Chef
The interviewer was rude. Even though I met all the requirements and they clearly needed more staff, I never heard back from them. I tried contacting them multiple times, but got no response or even an official rejection.
- Do you have previous experience in the food industry?
