I interviewed for a Sales Assistant position, and it was a good experience initially. The staff were nice and made me feel comfortable. The questions were easy to understand and the whole thing felt professional. I was told that if I didn't hear back in a week, I didn't get the job. I asked if I'd get an email either way, and they said yes. But two weeks later, nothing. I had to call them myself to find out I wasn't successful. They said I should have gotten an email but didn't. They also said they can't give feedback because of too many applications. I get that, but people put time into applying. Not giving feedback and not following up properly isn't good business. It also doesn't fit with the diversity stuff companies talk about. Even if it was a tech issue, it's still unprofessional. They need better systems so this doesn't happen. The interview itself was fine, but good communication is important for trust and professionalism. Management should make sure candidates get the communication they're promised so they don't have to chase for updates.

The interviewer was nice and asked me stuff about me. They asked about my age, why I wanted the job, about myself, and how I've worked with people before since that's a big part of the job.
