First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Swanson Russell Associates.
HR Intern
I went through 3 rounds of interviews. I can't remember exactly how many rounds there were in total, but I didn't get past the 3rd round. The first was a phone call, and then the next two were on Zoom in a panel setting.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Marketing Data Analyst
My experience with this company started off a bit rocky with the HR scheduling, they had to reschedule our initial chat a few times. Then, there was a 30-minute video call with a representative to get to know me better. After that, I was given an assignment to complete. They told me I was a strong candidate. I ended up spending 3 hours on this assignment during a really busy week at my main job. Unfortunately, I never heard back from the hiring manager or got any feedback on my work, and honestly, I felt pretty ignored. It seems like their 'top employer' status is just a marketing thing. Don't assume that just because it's a smaller company, doing an assignment will automatically help you get the job. It's probably best to get an offer before you commit to doing any work for them. For all I know, I might have just done some of their necessary work that week without any pay.
- How would you go about sharing data or insights with a group of decision-makers? What kind of communication tool would you choose?
Project Manager
Started with an online spelling and grammar test. Then, I was invited for an in-person interview. The interview itself was pretty standard. First, I had to take another timed spelling and grammar test. They asked some basic interview questions and I met with two friendly interviewers. They described the job role briefly. They advised to dress professionally. Unfortunately, I wasn't invited for a second interview.
- Could you tell me a little about yourself?
- Describe a time you had to deal with a difficult situation.
- Can you share your experience collaborating with teams?
Account Manager
So, there were a few rounds of calls that were scheduled. The first ones were just to see if I was a good fit, like from HR. Then there was a final assessment that was in-person. It all ended with a panel of people that I would be working with reviewing everything. The final decision on hiring me was made by the whole team, not just one person.
- How can you say your experience is useful for this role?
