Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Surbana Jurong.
Software Engineer
I recently interviewed with this company and it was a disappointing experience. The interviewers seemed more focused on finding faults rather than assessing my skills constructively. The overall tone was discouraging and made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. I think interviews should be professional and aimed at assessing a candidate's potential and fit, but this felt unprofessional and unfair. I hope Surbana Jurong uses this feedback to create a more respectful interview environment.
- Could you explain the SOLID principles?
- What are your thoughts on Rate Limiting?
- Can you discuss SQL database concepts?
Software Engineer
We had a 2-step interview. The first part was all about problem-solving, with easy and medium questions. They gave us 3 problems to solve within 1.5 hours, and then asked some follow-up questions. The second step involved looking at our projects and asking questions about them.
- Can you tell me about the time and space complexity for the problems you solved?
Software Engineer
It was a smooth and formal interview process. They interviewed my skills and also judged my personality. For any question, instead of giving a long answer, I needed to give a point-to-point answer in short. After that, if the interviewer asked me to elaborate, then I could go. I tried to avoid using negative words.
- What are your future plans for this role?
