I had a phone interview with a recruiter. We talked about two different roles I could be considered for. It seemed like a good conversation and I learned a lot about the company and what they were looking for. I never heard back after that. No rejection or anything. I emailed them a few weeks later to ask about it, but got no response. Both jobs are still up on their careers site.

A recruiter contacted me and set up my first interview. They mentioned two open positions in different divisions, and I interviewed with both hiring managers. The second interview felt more aligned with my past work. While the recruiter was out, I was handled by someone who only communicated via text. After the final interview, I was told I'd be updated about an offer. I waited two days and had to follow up with my recruiter, who was waiting on the offer letter and confirmed my salary expectations. Another week passed without contact, so I reached out again. Two minutes after I left a message, I got a rejection email. Then my original recruiter texted saying I was still being considered and he'd provide updates. I waited another week, trying to call, text, and email with no reply. About a month later, I got a second rejection email. It was a terrible experience being told I was qualified for both roles, that an offer was coming, only to be ignored and get no feedback.

I talked to my recruiter on the phone and she let me check out the contracting facility before I decided to accept the offer. My recruiter was really good at staying in touch and making sure I was happy with the job and really stood up for me. It wasn't like the contracting facility ever really needed me to defend myself, but I know my recruiter had my back. Some recruiters aren't as thoughtful. I was fortunate that my recruiter wasn't motivated by commission and genuinely had what was best for me in mind.

I submitted my resume on Monday and had an interview with the hiring manager on Tuesday morning at 7 AM. He was very direct with me about his thoughts on my candidacy. The very next day, I interviewed with five other team members, including an executive. They all took the time to learn more about me and my qualifications, and they let me ask any questions I had, answering honestly. They told me their decision two days later. I really liked how fast the process was and that it didn't take weeks or months.
