First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SuperValu Ireland.
Retail Assistant
My in-person interview went well, with no tricky questions. It was designed to assess my capabilities across all aspects of the retail assistant role. It's best to prepare for general retail questions or ones specific to the exact position you're applying for.
- How would you handle a difficult situation?
Shop Assistant
I submitted my CV to Supervalu and got a call a few days later for an interview. It was in person with three managers. They went over my CV and asked me scenario questions like "if a situation arose where a customer was becoming aggravated, what would be your course of action?". The interview lasted about 10 minutes. The next day, I got another call offering me the role.
- What would you do if a customer became angry?
Retail Assistant
I applied online via the company website. After some time, I received an email indicating I was selected for the next stage. I scheduled my interview and attended it. The interview primarily focused on my resume and my previous experience in retail. Later, I got another email informing me that my application would not be proceeding.
- Are you planning any holidays in the coming year?
