Product Designer
I was contacted by both an in-house recruiter and an agency about this role, which was a bit unclear if it was contract or full-time. After a call with the in-house recruitment team, I had a hiring manager interview for a full-time position in growth acquisition. This was followed by a portfolio review with other designers, a content designer, and a researcher. Then there was a design exercise, a chat with the group PM, and the hiring manager checked my references. The recruiter gave me a verbal offer, but ultimately the role was rescinded and nothing came of it.
- I apologize, but I don't recall any specific questions that were asked.
Product Designer
The interview process was quite long, taking about a month in total to wrap up. It started with HR, then went to the Hiring Manager, then a Design Exercise, followed by a PM interview, a Research interview, and finally a Culture interview. I think I might be missing a step, but it was definitely a long process. Overall, it felt like a really thorough and transparent process, which I appreciated.
- Can you tell me about your experience working with each of your past managers across all your previous roles?
Product Designer
The recruiter started off with a 20-minute pitchdeck presentation during the first 30-minute call. I found this format a bit unusual for getting to know candidates. At the end, they asked if I liked what I heard and wanted to schedule a follow-up call for the next day. I was also asked to share my portfolio again, which seemed redundant, so they could pass it to the hiring manager.
