Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Superdrug.
Store Manager
Applied online and heard back the next day. Had a video interview the week after, which I had to do on my phone because of time constraints - definitely use wifi and a computer for this, as it took over an hour. The recruiter was super friendly and professional. The interview was in the store, and I was supposed to prep a SWOT analysis and some answers, but the interviewer didn't know about it, so that was a waste of time. The area manager was the interviewer, and while the recruiter said she was friendly, I found her cold and hard to talk to. It was less than an hour, with lots of competency-based questions. I found it hard to tell what she was looking for, so I just talked about my own experiences, which weren't really relevant to Superdrug. They said I'd hear back in 2 weeks, but it took another week. They did tell me in person that I didn't get the job because an internal candidate was chosen, which felt like a brush-off. The recruiter couldn't give any specific feedback, so I think it was a culture fit issue.

Store Manager
It was a 2 stage process starting with a floor walk and SWOT analysis, followed by an interview with the business manager and an HR manager. We talked about the floor walk and then had some general management interview questions. The whole thing took about 3 hours. After that, I had a telephone interview with the store's line manager and a general meet.
- What unique value can you offer to the company?
- Tell me about your experience conducting a floor walk.
- What are your thoughts on general management interview topics?
Store Manager
Applied on the website and was contacted by the Talent team to arrange an interview. Kerry from Talent was very helpful. I then went to an interview in a local store and met David. The interview was good and positive. I got a phone call the same day to say I got the job! Overall, it was a very easy process and the two people I dealt with were amazing and so helpful.
- Can you complete a SWOT analysis and talk me through it?
- Tell me about your employment history.
- What are your experiences as a customer shopping at Superdrug?
