Hair Stylist
The Supercuts hiring process is pretty chill and conversational, checking out your hairdressing skills, how much experience you have, and if you'd fit in. It usually starts with a phone or video chat, then you come in for an in-person interview, and maybe they'll have you do a practical skills test. It takes about 30-60 minutes. The manager will talk about your availability, scheduling, and the company rules. They'll also check your technical skills, how you handle customers, and if you're a good team player. It's all about making sure it's a good fit for you and Supercuts.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- Do you have the necessary certifications?
Hair Stylist
You meet with the district manager at one of the salons. We talked about what the job entails and your experience and availability. They had me watch some of their training videos and then cut 2 different haircuts on a manikin. I was offered the job right after. It's not difficult at all, as long as you're respectful and honest. They like it when you mention your weaknesses and strengths. They did mention I'd have to wait to be fully hired because I need to complete their 5-day training class. I had to wait 3 months for the next class. But the interview itself, from when they first contacted me to coming in and everything, wasn't a long process.
- Why do you feel Supercuts is a suitable place for you?
- Tell me about your experience and when you are available to work.
- Can you share your strengths and weaknesses?
Hairstylist
I applied online and submitted my portfolio pictures. They called me for an interview after a week. The interview was friendly, and the atmosphere was great. The salon manager asked questions and reviewed my portfolio. The manager and assistant were nice and friendly, which made me less nervous. They discussed salon rules and how to be a good stylist for Supercuts. They told me the result the day after the interview. They immediately said they wanted to hire me and had me complete the paperwork that day. Everything was great, and I was happy they hired me.
- Can you tell us a little about yourself?
- How important do you believe customer service is in this role?
Hair Stylist
The interview was scheduled for 1:00 pm, but the manager was running late and didn't arrive until 2:00 pm. The interview felt rushed because the manager conducted it partly in her office and partly on the salon floor while serving another client.
- Are you available to work on weekends?
- What is your post-graduation experience timeline?
- Have you worked with men's haircuts before?
