First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Super Supplements.
QA Supervisor
It was a panel interview with round robin questions. They asked a mix of situation, task, action, result based questions. There were about 15 questions in total. I had to give examples of problem solving and how I implemented improvement processes. They also asked about my years of experience.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Distribution Center Specialist
I applied online and got an email a day or two later to schedule a phone screening. The screening was mainly to go over my resume and ask some easy questions about my background. Then, I had to complete a survey, which focused on workplace theft and reporting to management. After that, I was called in for an interview with two managers. It was a pretty typical interview with common questions. Finally, I had a drug test and background check. The whole process took about three weeks.
- Can you tell me about a situation in a past job where a problem occurred or you had a disagreement with a colleague, and how you handled it?
Sales Associate
I applied online, and after a couple of weeks, a recruiter from Super Supplements called me for a phone interview. They asked questions similar to those on the online application, like if I'd visited a store and what I liked. I definitely suggest checking out a store before applying. After that, they said they'd email me a link to an online test (a personality test) to do over the weekend, and I should reply when finished. I got the test on Friday, did it right away, and replied the same day instead of waiting for Monday. That same Friday, the store manager contacted me to set up an interview for Tuesday. The interview had three people: the store manager, a regional manager, and another employee, possibly a sales associate or assistant manager. It lasted an hour. They asked about my past work experience and about customer and co-worker scenarios in the store, asking what I would do. I also had to rate my knowledge on supplement categories like vitamins/minerals, herbs, sports nutrition, and homeopathic supplements, and then describe them, along with weight loss and weight gain supplements. Given my nutrition degrees, I found it a bit strange to be asked to describe such broad topics. I wasn't sure where to begin since I could talk about most of them extensively. When I started on vitamins and minerals (after rating my knowledge as excellent), I listed the fat-soluble and water-soluble ones but then forgot the names of the B vitamins, saying I might have forgotten them, even though I know their functions well. The regional manager seemed annoyed and said if my knowledge was excellent, I should know everything. So, I asked if he wanted me to describe each one, and he said yes, so I went into detail, which seemed to satisfy them.
- Given a busy store scenario with multiple customers, a ringing phone, and a delivery, what would you do?
- What aspect of work do you find least appealing?
- Can you explain what sports nutrition entails regarding supplements?
Sales Lead
I was first invited for an interview with the first phone screen. Then the in-person interview was scheduled which was easy-going and I was made comfortable in communicating with the hiring manager which made for a successful interview to hiring process.
