The interview process involves a Phone, Team, and VP Interview. Speak clearly and confidently. They chose you for a reason so be confident and positive about this achievement! You should be prepared to give specific examples of your personal experience with how you’ve handled these responsibilities. If it is something you were exposed to but didn’t have direct hands on experience with, do not hesitate to explain in what capacity you used it. We often get feedback from managers that candidates talk more about what the project was, not what their specific role was and how they personally made an impact. It would be great to talk about your experience with AML and how you specifically have driven a project and in what capacity.

I initially connected with the hiring manager at a professional event. After exchanging resumes, he conducted a 45-minute phone interview. Subsequently, he arranged for five in-person interviews over two days with his colleagues and his boss. These interviews were held in a large bank building downtown, which was a bit confusing to navigate. The interviewers seemed genuine and easy to talk to. The hiring manager then told me I was liked and they wanted to hire me, but they needed to work out a salary. After this, the hiring manager and HR took over a month to finalize things, during which time I accepted another job. While I was disappointed, I recognize that banks have had issues lately and perhaps it was for the best.

I went through two interviews, one with the Department Manager and another with the Director. They asked me about 2-3 specific Project Management questions related to my experience. I was also asked about my hardest business decision up to that point. Some technical questions came up regarding the department's main function. Since I was new to that function, I discussed my similar experiences and skills that would be transferable to learning that new area.
