Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SunTrust.
Investment Banking Analyst
The process was pleasant and they don't ask you anything you shouldn't know. There were a few phone interviews; the first was about me and my resume (personal questions), and the last two were more technical interviews.
- Can you explain what a discount cash flow is?
Investment Banking Analyst
Applied through campus recruiting. The first round had two 30 minute phone calls with a VP and the head recruiter. One call was technical and the other was behavioral. The interviewers were nice and the vibe was very laid back. They asked about why IB, why Atlanta, and why STRH.
- Can you explain how a $10 depreciation charge impacts the financial statements?
- Is debt or equity the more expensive form of financing?
Investment Banking Analyst
I applied through a resume drop on the Career Services website. The first step was a quick 15-minute phone screening with one person. It included some really basic questions like an elevator pitch, why SunTrust and why Atlanta, and how you would value a company.
- Can you explain how you would determine the valuation of a trucking company?
