They asked me where I see myself in 5 years. Also asked if they could talk to my family and friends, and what would they say about me - 5 good things and 5 bad things. Then they asked where I see myself in 6 months if they hired me. Also asked what I would change from my last job and what positive thing I'd bring over to this new job.

Applied online through a job board. Got a first phone call from an HR recruiter for a quick screening. Then, a second HR recruiter called to set up a one-on-one with a hiring manager. After that, the second HR recruiter called again saying the interview went well and they wanted to schedule me for a phone interview with an area manager. I had that phone interview where they asked a lot of the same stuff the hiring manager did. Now I'm waiting to hear back from the HR recruiter about an offer or rejection. This whole thing has taken about 3 weeks since I applied.

I sent in my application online via the SunTrust website on a Saturday, and also completed some online tests that were like the actual job tasks. I was surprised to get an email from the recruiter within hours, asking to set up a phone interview. I emailed back that same evening, and we scheduled a phone interview for Monday morning. The phone interview with the recruiter happened Monday morning and lasted about 30 minutes. She was really professional and made me feel comfortable. Even though I didn't have tons of call center experience, she said my previous work history was good enough, and offered me an in-person interview with some call center staff for the next day. I went to the Orlando Call Center on Tuesday afternoon for the in-person interview. The person I met with was also very professional, and we got along right away. The whole interview took almost 2 hours. It included a 40-minute session where I watched a current SunTrust employee do the job, so I got a good feel for what the role involved. By the end of the in-person interview, they said I'd know something in 24-48 hours. On Wednesday morning, less than 24 hours after my in-person interview, the recruiter called to offer me the job. The rest of the details came by email, which was really detailed and covered everything I needed to know before training. What worked for me was just staying relaxed and giving honest answers, even if they weren't exactly what the interviewer might want to hear. They'll respect the honesty, and you'll feel good about it no matter what. I was happy with how the process went, regardless of the outcome. Also, watch out: both the phone and in-person interviews used the same questions. If you were honest in both, it should be fine. I noticed they had my phone interview answers during the in-person interview and were checking if they matched up. Smart way to filter out potentially bad employees!
