First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SunTrust.
Business Solutions Analyst
I was first contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. Then HR called to get some basic info, followed by a senior HR person who went over details and set up a phone screen with the recruiting manager. This initial part took about 3-4 weeks. The phone screen was about 30-45 minutes, mainly asking about my current role at Suntrust. A week after that, HR contacted me to schedule an onsite interview with five other people, which was set for two weeks later. The onsite was behavioral, and everyone was nice despite being busy. There was no HR contact before or after to let me know when to expect feedback. You usually hear back in a week or two, yes or no, but I heard nothing. I reached out to HR after three weeks for an update but got no response. Six weeks later, I saw the job was closed, but still no word on my status. The interview process itself was fine, but I wish I'd at least been notified if I was still being considered.
- Tell me about your current profile and position at Suntrust.
- It was a behavioral interview so no exceptional questions were asked. If you have some examples of different scenarios and can articulate well, you should be good.
Business Analyst
The interview was very focused on you personally. It's important to know yourself well, including your strengths, weaknesses, career aspirations, and what you hope to achieve in your career. If you're not prepared for this, it will be challenging. Also, many questions are based on your answers, so the interview can change direction easily.
- What was your reason for selecting your current major and university?
Business Analyst
Got referred by a friend who works at the bank. Then HR called, we talked about my background and what I was looking for. A few days later, I got an email to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager, which was about 30 minutes. About a week after that, I went in for an onsite interview. I met with seven different people there, one-on-one. Felt good about it. A few days later, HR called with an offer.
- Could you start by telling me a bit about yourself?
