First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sunstates Security.
Security Guard
We'll have a structured interview where we'll ask about your background and do some extra checks to see how you handle things like conflicts, your judgment, and customer service skills. You'll also need to tell us about your work history, especially times you handled conflicts well or made customers happy.
- How would you approach a conflict situation?
- In your own words, what does good customer service mean?
Security Supervisor
The hiring process is lengthy and involves a thorough background check, as the company is dedicated to hiring only well-qualified professionals. The staff at the local office are very friendly, creating a family-like atmosphere. The district manager even came over, introduced himself, and offered refreshments. I'm eager to join the team.
- Describe how you would handle specific emergency situations.
Site Manager
I got a text from an operations manager about a job I applied for. After a phone call, we set up an in-person interview. It was with the client, not Sunstates directly. The client seemed to like what I said and offered me the job. I took it. I even got a raise after about 6 months.
- Do you have experience in law enforcement, military, or security?
- Could you describe your customer service experience?
- How would you manage conflicts that arise between people from diverse backgrounds?
Security Operations Manager
I applied online and got a call two weeks later. The recruiter wanted to see if I was a fit and outlined the role and duties. They said they'd send my resume to supervisors for an in-person interview if it was a go. I got another call a week later to schedule the second interview. It was in-person with two people. The interview was personable and detailed, I got a feel for the company, culture, and expectations and asked questions. They said I'd hear back but they ghosted me, even after I followed up and emailed HR. The position was reposted on Indeed. I expected better from Sunstates Security.
- Could you tell us about your background and how it relates to this role?
