The interview process was pretty straightforward and fast. It was a standard, routine process. They explained how it would go. The job description wasn't exactly right though. I wouldn't suggest this for sales pros who are trying to build a career. It seems more like a role where you're just taking orders rather than generating revenue.

As a sales professional, I reached out to the recruiter for the community and we connected via email. I was invited to a call and we set it up. I then received a call from a different recruiter, which was a very pleasant and easy exchange of information. After that, I was invited to meet with the Executive Director (ED). During my meeting with the ED, she mostly spoke about herself, but we did discuss seniors and their expectations. I shared my experience in senior living and other comparable sales fields, believing I'd be a great fit. However, the ED didn't seem very engaged, and the interview ended abruptly. I sent follow-up thank you notes to both the ED and the recruiter. After nearly two weeks with no response, I emailed and called the recruiter. She responded via email, admitting she forgot to contact me, and informed me they would not be moving forward with my application. Given the overall experience with the ED, I wasn't too disappointed. Senior Living can be a tough industry, often thankless from a management perspective, with high sales pressure and constant turnover in all departments. This frequently leads to understaffing, impacting both employees and residents. Passion for seniors and working with their advocates and healthcare professionals is really key to working in these communities, at least for me. I wonder if the executives have read these reviews and interview posts.

I saw the Director of Sales job on LinkedIn and applied on their site. A recruiter emailed me to set up a phone interview. I picked a time online. The first interview was about 30 minutes, mostly about my background, knowing the company, and why I want the job. I sent a thank you note. Then I got emails with links for two online tests: a personality test (Predictive Index) and a tech skills test. They took about 30 minutes total. After that, a more senior recruiter called for a second interview, which was around 40 minutes, focusing again on my experience and what drives me, plus more details about the role and company. I sent another thank you. Right after that call, I was invited for a third phone interview with the Regional Director of Sales later that week. This one lasted about 35 minutes, covering my background and more specific details about the job and company. They mentioned I'd hear from the General Manager if I progressed. I thanked the Regional Director. A couple days later, the GM called and emailed to schedule an in-person interview for that Saturday morning. I got there a bit early, but they were in a staff meeting, so I waited in the lobby for 40 minutes past my interview time. It actually gave me a chance to see the community and meet some people, though there was a little unrest among residents because the activities coordinator was apparently out. They tried to figure something out in the bistro. The GM then called me in with the Reminiscence Care Manager. They had a set of about 10 "what if" and "tell me about a time when" behavioral questions, followed by casual chat. This fourth interview was about 35 minutes, and I felt good about it. I sent a thank you to the GM and care manager. Surprisingly, on Monday morning, I got a standard email saying they chose someone else. Even though I was disappointed, the experience was mostly good. I think the community is a nice place.
