After submitting my application, I also filled out a background check form and provided 4 references (2 personal, 2 professional). I then had a one-on-one meeting with the hiring manager and the department head. They asked me a lot of questions about my experience with seniors and how I'd handle different scenarios. They also inquired about my salary expectations and availability. We discussed my past jobs and how they could be relevant to working with seniors. Following the job offer, there was significant paperwork, and I had to await my fingerprint clearance card. I also needed to get CPR/First Aid certified and obtain a food handler's permit, plus complete a two-week company training program.

I applied online and heard back about a week later about a group interview. On the interview day, about 15 of us showed up at Sunrise, with half applying for concierge and the other half for caregiver roles. We all filled out some info sheets and watched a quick video about Sunrise. Then, two managers talked about their experiences and what they look for in team members. We then answered some questions, some mandatory that we all did going around, and others optional. It lasted an hour. The day after, I got a letter saying they'd keep my resume on file, which was two months ago, and the job is still open.

I applied and got a referral. Then I had a group interview with 5-6 people at Sunrise Senior Living. They asked some intro questions, and not everyone was applying for the same job. After that, I was asked to come back and job shadow for two days. I shadowed both day and evening concierge tasks. Then I had a one-on-one with a coordinator. Three days after that, I got a hire package and talked to the Executive Director to get started. The whole hiring thing took about a month.
