Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SunPower.
Software Development Engineer
This was the most unprofessional technical interview I’ve ever experienced. The interviewer was unprepared and very rude. I was told “you don’t have to code, you can just talk through how you would solve the problem”. After three minutes of doing just that, I was told “you know we’re judging you on your code right?” From that point on I couldn’t think for longer than a minute without unhelpful and distracting input. To top it all off, the interviewer cut the interview 30 minutes short without explanation.
- A typical random Leetcode coding exercise was given.
Software Engineer
Terrible experience. Started with a recruiter call about the job. Then had two interviews with the Manager, which involved technical discussions, and then one with the director. They rescinded on the compensation after I accepted the offer. Don't recommend.
- tell me about yourself
- what are your thoughts on these basic software engineering questions?
Project Developer
It was a case study kind of interview with a bunch of peer and director level people. The whole thing took a while and was kinda messy. It was a hard interview, but everyone was nice, smart, and talented in this tough field.
- What's your approach to valuing grid exports given the new NEM system?
